During a trip to Los Angeles this past week, Mr. Manning paid a visit to the memorial for Paul R. Williams, who designed the homes for numerous celebrities as well as public and private spaces. In 2017, he will be posthumously honored with the AIA Gold Medal, for his pioneering career, which encouraged others to cross a chasm of historic biases. Read more about the celebrated architect here.
