TramlinkBR is the vision for a three-mile modern streetcar line from the north gates of LSU to Downtown Baton Rouge, linking multiple neighborhoods to a modern, high-capacity transit system. Manning designed the tram stops for the line: five pairs in the Downtown alignment and six pairs along the Nicholson Drive corridor, including designs for alternate configurations. Manning’s design team also provided a conceptual design for the tram’s Operations & Maintenance Facility. TramlinkBR is designed to serve the growing needs of neighborhoods, businesses, students, key destinations, and planned developments—which include the Water Campus, River District, and the Nicholson Gateway.

The modern tram line will not only provide a much-needed connection linking the Louisiana State Capitol, Downtown Baton Rouge, and Louisiana State University, but could also catalyze new transit-oriented development in its vicinity. TramlinkBR will serve an estimated 2,200 passengers daily upon its completion in mid-2021, and that number is projected to increase to 4,300 passengers per day by 2041, following new developments predicted to arise along the corridor.
