Program Management for NOLA Public Schools
Award-winning program management to keep school construction on target
Manning is a member of the program management team, partnered with CBRE|Heery & Vanir Construction Management, providing services for the K-12 public school system in New Orleans. We provide daily onsite services for projects under construction. Through our inspection and project management services, we have not only identified discrepancies in the work but have also developed solutions. Our efforts have helped to quickly resolve issues that arise, foster communications, and promote an efficient project delivery.
The team has collaborated with the construction manager, contractor, architect, and owner, as well as with funding sources and agencies. An important focus has been maintaining careful adherence to the requirements of multiple funding sources. As an example, work on the Ben Franklin Elementary Science and Mathematics School entailed the renovation of a century-old building. The existing construction was carefully dismantled, uncovering conditions that had to be addressed once discovered. Manning’s work helped to resolve these unforeseen conditions and keep the project moving forward in accordance with funding source regulations.
The Construction Management Association of America Gulf Coast Chapter awarded the Ben Franklin Elementary School project its Project Achievement Award. Other schools to date include Hynes Charter Elementary, McMain High School, and New Orleans Charter for Science and Math High School. On each school, the Manning team works carefully to control schedule, scope, and construction costs.
