The Plessy Project was a collaborative effort led by the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) Institute, which owned the property that was the site of Homer Plessy’s arrest, the event which initiated the famous civil rights landmark court case, Plessy vs. Ferguson. Manning facilitated stakeholder design charrettes, translating their visions into design concepts. The designed vision included a visitor’s center set within a park that also acted as a community forum and administrative areas.
