Manning, in collaboration with Pelli Clarke Pelli, was brought in to develop the design for the new world-class terminal for the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. Manning’s comprehensive engagement included incorporating an authentic New Orleans experience into the design of the new terminal. The firm focused on creating a continuous link between the traveler’s experience within the airport and in the city beyond. Reinforcing that connection, the design incorporated an abundance of natural light permeating the interior and interior landscaping, introducing travelers to the exterior environment before leaving the terminal. The new billion-dollar terminal was developed based on this forward-thinking design tailored to its unique New Orleans context.
