Manning has been engaged in DFW’s Terminal Renewal & Improvement Program (TRIP) from 2010 to 2018 and over the tenure of four different program managers. Our continuity of involvement lent on-site expertise and cohesiveness to the series of projects.

Having prior experience in all phases of airport design, the Manning team was able to add value to the projects through programming, design, tenant staging coordination, and construction support services. Our work in four terminals—A, B, C, and E—has played a significant role in advancing these existing terminals to meet the new century’s demands for heightened airport security and customer experience. The extensive renovations included TSA checkpoints, concessions and vendor spaces, passenger holding rooms, jet bridge and ramp equipment, new FIDS systems, and accessibility and circulation improvements in addition to general interior renovations.

For most airport work, design and construction time is in short supply. Airports need to move passengers with minimal disruption, and at DFW, that’s over 200,000 people per day. We’ve honed our processes that include strategic temporary moves and construction phasing to keep the airport and tenants operational. For the TRIP projects, we developed the construction phasing scheme as well as the plan for moving tenants into temporary space during construction to remain operational.

The four terminals are over forty years old, requiring a complete overhaul. D is the newer, international terminal, providing DFW’s capacity as America’s fastest growing international hub. These critical terminal projects required expert services, and Manning is proud to have been a part of their transformations.
