Manning worked with a coalition of ministers to develop a property destroyed
by Katrina that provided a seminary and community resources. Structures on
the city block were demolished after Katrina, creating the opportunity for
full redevelopment. Design is underway with an approach that arranges the
buildings along the perimeter of the site with landscaped parking within the
interior of the block in a planning scheme sympathetic to the urban context.
The mixed-use project includes much needed housing targeting senior and
affordable living, a seminary and learning center, and commercial space.
